  1. How are tutors selected?
    1. Tutor applicants are only considered if there is a need for the subject they wish to tutor.  Priority is given to students with previous tutoring experience or exceptional performance in their subject classes.
  2. Where do the tutoring sessions take place?
    1. Each tutor specifies where they meet students in their profile.  If they do not have a location students can email the tutor after scheduling to decide where to meet.
  3. How are tutors paid?
    1. Students pay the tutor at the end of the appointment with cash or check.  The amount is specified in each tutor’s profile. 
  4. What if I can’t find someone who tutors my class?
    1. Email unctutors@unc.edu with the class number and we will find a tutor who is comfortable enough to help you.  
  5. How do I become a Tutor?
    1. You can apply directly on our site with our online application.
  6. Do I have to register to schedule a tutor?
    1. Although it is not necessary to register to schedule a tutor, we recommend registering to keep your information saved to make it easier to schedule tutors in the future.
  7. How do I advertise on UNCTutors.com?
    1. You can email us at unctutors@unc.edu and we will directly contact you and discuss our pricing and available options.
